Celebrating the Achievements of Dr. Saeed Salum
On 25/09/2022, MHF orchestrated a ceremony to celebrate and
honor the esteemed Professor Dr. Saeed Salum for his notable achievement in
receiving the Ibn Rushd Prize for Free Thought in Berlin 2022. The event
garnered the participation of representatives from various religious
backgrounds in Iraq, including Muslims, Christians, Yazidis, Zoroastrians, and
Kakais.
The ceremony featured a lecture that delved into the
intricacies of religious and ethnic diversity within Iraq. Attendees actively
engaged in discussions, exploring the dimensions of this diversity. Such
gatherings hold immense significance for Iraqi society, fostering unity and
promoting coexistence. Despite being predominantly Muslim, both religiously and
ethnically, Iraq and the Kurdistan region boast a rich tapestry of diversity,
making events like these essential for nurturing understanding and harmony.
